Weekly Training Programs
These sessions run twice per week in a number of locations. Each day begins with technical work on a specific skill and then progresses into gameplay to finish. Boys and girls are both welcome (unless otherwise noted), and no partner is necessary! Each location has various programs types designed to fit every athlete’s skill level and age. See the descriptions below to decide which program you’re best suited for and then choose your location.
Introductory Programs
For athletes between 13-18 years old without previous beach volleyball experience. Training will focus on instruction in basic skills such as passing, setting, hitting, serving, blocking and defense. Athletes will also be taught the basics of beach volleyball gameplay and tactics. Introductory strength, power, speed and agility exercises will be included to improve every athlete’s physical fitness.
Competitive Programs
For athletes 15-18 years old with previous beach volleyball experience. Training will focus on refining offensive and defensive skills as well as introducing advanced gameplay strategies. This program will aim to prepare the athletes for the Volleyball BC tournament series as well as beach Provincials and Nationals. Introductory strength, power, speed and agility exercises will be included to improve every athlete’s physical fitness.
Mini Beach Volleyball Program **New This year!**
This fun-focused program is for athletes between 9-13 years old without previous beach volleyball experience. This is a fun filled opportunity to have a blast learning a new sport and developing basic skills applicable to both indoor and beach volleyball such as passing, setting, hitting, serving, and defense. Athletes will also be taught the basics of beach volleyball game play and rules. Every athlete will improve their physical fitness and basic kinesthetic awareness through an emphasis on introductory movement patterns related to running and jumping.
