When and where are Tryouts?

Tryouts are at 6Pack Indoor Beach on Mitchell Island in Richmond, on Dec 15th and 16th from 12:30pm-2:30pm (12U-16U) or 2:30pm-4:30pm (16U-18U). 16Us might be in either session depending on the numbers in all ages who sign up for tryouts.

What is it?

SIDEOUT Winter/Spring

Our Winter/Spring Training programs are for 12U-18U female athletes looking to get a head start on next summers beach season.  Athletes will train 1 to 2 times per week from January to April at 6Pack Indoor Beach Centre, building on fundamental technical and tactical skills and refining the game for the summer season. The winter training will be low intensity and very technical to avoid overtraining our athletes who are playing indoor club volleyball as well. Our training is meant to be complementary to indoor club volleyball, and we will work closely with our selected athletes to create a training schedule that  supports their overall technical, physical, and mental development for both beach and indoor. No partner is necessary for tryouts, but partner requests will be taken into consideration.

The winter/spring training schedule will run from early January until mid-April, when we will stop training to allow athletes to focus fully on indoor Provincials and Nationals. Training sessions will be in small groups with 6-8 athletes per coach in order to offer individualized feedback and support. Exact training dates will be determined with the selected athletes after tryouts. We will do our best to accommodate indoor training schedules when creating the finalized beach training schedule. Cost for the winter training will be $40/session, this year athletes will have the option of 3 different training plans:

1) 1 Afternoon Session per week Monday’s (12U-16U) from 4pm-5:45pm or Wednesday (16U-18U) from 4:00-4:45.

2) 2 Sessions per week, one Morning session 6am-7:45am (Either Monday or Wednesday) and one afternoon session (Monday 12U-16U or Wednesday 16U-18U).

3) 2 Morning sessions per week Monday and Wednesday mornings from 6am-7:45am.

** 16Us will either be Monday or Wednesday afternoons depending on numbers.

Training Locations & Times


– Practice days will be worked out once groups are selected

Training Fees:

~$800-$1000 for 20-25 Sessions (Two days per week model).

~$440-$520 for 11-13 Sessions (One Day per week model).

** Fees will be finalized once dates are selected.
